Those who know what to prepare for are busy every day. Bystanders who don't understand can't grasp it, because to them there's nothing to do.

They don't see why this person is busy with all this—making baskets at home, one after another. You look at it and think, with so many baskets, what on earth are they going to fill them with?

Then, after a while, gold coins rain from the sky. The person has laid out all those baskets and catches them all.

There's only one way the market can prove you're good at something: by paying you.

When you tie the task to everyone's personal interests, you don't have to push it — they'll push it themselves.

You need to figure out what the big boss wants, what each department president wants, what marketing wants, what operations wants, and where each executive's interests lie.

Self-interest is something you tuck away quietly, letting people achieve their own goals while they pave the way for your own.
