Winning requires two things: thinking and doing

Valid strategies aren't hard to come by. The issue is that executives may envision a direction the boss won't approve, or the boss agrees but the team fails to execute. Even when leadership aligns, the ground level may still fall short.

So companies that can be launched by a single person often achieve results more easily. Fewer people mean fewer obstacles to getting things done, whereas for most endeavors, more people simply mean more friction.

The real core of management is eliminating that friction in execution.
