NPS Questions in Operations
I’ve seen several people (who seem like industry veterans) say that NPS is a great development metric or something to that effect. But here’s the problem: there are countless articles and posts online, yet no one has ever established a clear, quantifiable standard for it.
In practice, this means everyone acknowledges it’s “right,” but nobody actually knows how to use it…
A concept that can’t be quantified is basically just another empty platitude. Knowing it’s “correct” is one thing; whether you can actually apply it—and whether that translates into good operations (or a well-lived life)—is entirely another.

Honestly, it’s far more useful than
the share-and-spread data behind positive and negative reviews
You can derive a healthy, measurable growth metric from actual sharing and spreading data: if it exceeds the benchmark, scale up your paid campaigns; if it falls short, redesign and optimize your approach.
Content placement → Tier-1 reach → Tier-1 conversions → Tier-2 shares and spread → Tier-2 conversions → Repeat
As long as this chain keeps flowing, it’s far more practical than vague concepts like NPS.
