This world is so bizarre…
A tent—I mean, even a decent mid-range one costs just around $300. Throw in a grill setup, pack your own meals, bring some juice, grab a few groceries, and you’re looking at a max of another $300. Add a badminton racket to upgrade your game for another $300, and toss in a Kindle for sunbathing and reading—you’ll pick up a decent secondhand one for around $300 as well. All told, you’re comfortably under $1,200.
I just can’t wrap my head around why anyone would shell out $200 to rent someone else’s tent and camp once or twice. Instead of renting, why not buy your own gear? Then you can go whenever you feel like it. Once you’ve settled down and have kids, taking them to the park or the countryside becomes a regular thing—so why not own what you actually need?
