How to Create an Online Course and Tell a Compelling Marketing Story
From a post shared by someone inside Shengcai. The original is quite wordy, so here’s the summary:
Forget about “the market.” Just pick a major transformation you’ve personally experienced—the “zero to hero” arc where you hit a problem at zero, wrestled with it yourself, and came out as the hero. Lay out that process and you’ve got a solid course. (You’ve suffered through it, dug into it, and boiled down a solution.)
If something once really gnawed at you and you spent serious time and energy researching, studying, and ultimately solving it, that’s worth sharing—and it absolutely has value.
If the insight has universal appeal—meaning anyone can replicate it—you can package it into a deliverable online course and make money. Around that topic, you can also build a tightly focused community.
In China, representative cases include Li Yang’s English methods, the founders of the “Five Years of College Entrance Exams, Three Years of Simulated Tests” series, New Oriental’s training programs, and Shengcai.
