At Last, I Awakened to the Pursuit of Splitting Bills

You’d be doing pretty well for yourself living in this country—everything’s stable and comfortable, so people team up for just about anything. If you can’t find someone you know, you’ll find a stranger; both sides give and get, enjoying perks no one could afford alone. It reminds me of the fairy tale “Stone Soup”: one person starts the pot, everyone else contributes an ingredient. That’s also how many group memberships work on the internet—the leader’s free, and the rest split the cost.
