How Much Does Income in Public Institutions Compare to That in Private Enterprises?
Just saw the industry income data for our region, broken down by state-owned and private sectors.
Which industries make money and which don’t is now crystal clear.
Overall, compensated-sector (编制内) jobs pay 40–60% more than their private-sector counterparts.
Everyone should make the most of your fresh-graduate status right out of college—these roles are targeted at new graduates to fulfill social responsibility and boost employment rates. Don’t be fooled by the starting salary of 1,500–2,200/month. Soon enough, various bonuses, benefits, and the “five insurances and two funds” kick in, and your real income jumps up significantly. Of course, your nominal salary might still read 2,500… Don’t get misled—I’ve mentioned this before: a teacher’s paycheck may show 4,000, but between housing fund and other benefits, the total compensation is often 1–3× the base salary.
That said, many teaching and medical positions no longer come with permanent staffing quotas.
