Women get confused: Wanting sex doesn’t mean wanting marriage.

CategoryReading Notes

From a man’s perspective, the pool of women who’d sleep with him and the pool of women who’d marry him overlap almost entirely. Even if the former group is slightly larger, the ratio is roughly 1.2 to 1—barely any difference.
But from a woman’s standpoint, the number of men willing to sleep with her is dozens of times greater than the number willing to marry her.

This is why women often get confused by a single concept: agreeing to sleep with someone doesn’t mean he’s willing to marry them.
When men approach dating, they’re mostly dealing with the liquid itself—with very little foam. But when women navigate the same landscape, about 90% of what they encounter is just foam. They have to figure out which is which.

Even when a woman realizes the man isn’t planning to propose, she may still refuse to accept that conclusion. That’s precisely why so many women keep dreaming of marrying up and moving from a humble branch to a golden bough—even when they know the odds are vanishingly slim.
