First, follow your career—do whatever makes money. Cities don't care about people; they care about money. Even if you claim to have lived in this city since the beginning of time, since Pangu shaped the world, it won't help. Without money, you have to leave—even Pangu himself would have to go. So just follow your career, that's the right path.

If you're one of those rare outsiders who works in an industry that's a niche everywhere in big cities and doesn't make much money, yet you still really want to settle in a big city—then it's simple: choose where the education resources are.

This is the one truly valuable thing you can do for your descendants. Together, it's called loving money (and talent) as much as your life. The first is for making wealth; the second is for cultivating talent.

With money, you can go anywhere in this vast world. Without money, if you raise your children to be talented, only then will they have the chance to go anywhere in this vast world.

If you work in a field that doesn't pay well, staying in a big city for the next generation doesn't make much sense either. If someone runs to a gold mine, they go there to mine gold. But if you run to a gold mine and insist on farming instead, with barren soil and poor harvests—what are you even trying to achieve?
