If you take the entire Western world—all developed countries—and merge them into another version of China, what role does the US play within that consolidated nation? The Southeast Coast.

Look at China itself. No matter where your generation chooses to settle, after a few generations, people inevitably migrate toward the capital or the two major economic triangles—the Pearl River Delta and the Yangtze River Delta. That’s the long-term trend of population movement. When we view the West as a single integrated entity, the United States essentially functions as its Southeast Coast—the final destination for immigrants.
