Regretting the past is about feeling that you once had opportunities but failed to seize them.

Fear of the future stems from worrying whether your descendants can preserve the privileges you've already secured.

But here's the thing:

There's no such thing as an opportunity waiting around for just anyone. Opportunities are only opportunities for those who understand and are prepared. In other words, any chance you missed was because you didn't truly understand it—and you were never really ready either. So what's there to regret?

As for the future, it's always going to be overtaken by something new.
