Most leaders have the following two issues

The first issue is a lack of understanding of the facts.

Some are too lazy to bother finding out, some just don't want to know at all. Digging into the truth is exhausting, and honestly, if you stay ignorant, you can always pass the buck. But once you know, there's no escape hatch. He brings it up, you're the one who knows—and then do you solve it or not?

The second issue is an unwillingness to break problems down.
What do most leaders actually prefer? Do they want problem solvers who decompose issues? No—they're just human pinballs, passing everything downstream. Their boss hands them a watermelon, and they toss it to a subordinate. Or they split it in half and give each half to two different people. The problem remains intact; they never actually dissect it like Ding's butcher, breaking it into distinct tasks and assigning each to the right resources.
All they can do is monitor progress.
When their boss pressures them, they pressure you.

If your manager is already like this, chances are you'll be even worse.
You're not without problems—you just haven't had the opportunity to expose them yet.
