A person who suffered for the first half of their life, eating bitter meals for decades, can never make up for that hardship no matter how much better food they eat in the second half.

Because time passes and never returns.

The vast majority of people will never become wealthy. So if you’re simply suppressing yourself and forcing yourself to do things you don’t like, just to make your descendants richer and richer for generations to come, like Qin Shi Huang, the outcome may ultimately be pitiful. Perhaps by the third or fourth generation, they won’t want to have children at all, or they’ll recklessly squander the fortune you spent your whole life accumulating.

This is a highly probable scenario.
