When a business model is clear and stable, there are only two goals for a company: increase revenue and reduce costs. Are you in a revenue center or a cost center?

Usually, there's only one scenario where a company invests heavily in training an employee — when they work in a role that involves very repetitive tasks.
Positions that require creativity aren't trained; you're paid for that creativity.

Either you outpace the company, and the outcome is you quit.
Or the company outpaces you, and the outcome is you get laid off.
If you move in sync with the company, it's a rare, happy ending in employment history.
