Kids Need to Memorize Books Through Rote Learning

What do kids read? They rote memorize. You don’t understand it, but you’ve got it all locked in your head.

Then, as you grow up and gather experiences—event after event—those things you memorized as a kid start fermenting inside you. One day, it clicks. You suddenly get it. You realize that a line you recited back then actually means this.

That’s the point: understanding needs experience combined with it. That’s what 言传身教 is about.

言传 is the rote memorization. 身教 is the lived experience.
