Here’s a 25-year-old’s failure playbook:
1. Validate your idea before you start any project—make sure you’re not just ventriloquizing to yourself, and ideally confirm that your product can’t be easily replaced.
2. Build as large an audience as possible during the validation phase. The author kicked off two or three projects, and no one responded—he had zero audience.
3. Commit for more than a year. He kept giving up on his projects once they stalled and he got no feedback.
4. Selling your product matters more than building it. Close your first sale as fast as you can.
