High-end roles in finance are scarce. You either need top-tier credentials or a strong network—otherwise, it’s nearly impossible to break in. More commonly, the industry consists of entry-level sales and service positions, where the professional moat is narrow and a relevant degree offers little advantage.
In other words, students from ordinary tier-one universities and average families who chase finance end up as cannon fodder, while certain lucrative opportunities remain monopolized.
