In any ecosystem, a niche exists only because it has value; if that value is absent, the niche cannot exist.

The essence of having a say is providing utilitarian value. The greater your utilitarian value, the more influence you have.

If you bring value to your manager, you might become a team lead; if you bring value to the chairman, you might become an executive.

But only by providing value to the industry can you become chairman.

You can be valueless for now, and you may inherit the chairman’s niche—but within a few years, you’ll be crushed by the ecosystem if you never provide utilitarian value.
