Spend more time making big decisions. In your early life, there are basically three truly major decisions: where you live, who you're with, and what you do. We spend very little time deciding which relationship to commit to. We spend a lot of time on our jobs but very little time deciding which job to pursue. The city you choose to live in basically entirely determines the trajectory of your life, yet we spend so little time deciding which city to live in.
