What Independent Homebuying Women Are Thinking

I’m more drawn to tangible results than to idealism or daydreaming—at work and in life, I want things that are real and grounded. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve grown to love gold and a growing collection of possessions I can hold in my hands: the kind of things that feel solid and align more closely with the real world.

To create the life and environment I envision, I have to tackle practical matters like home renovation, work decisions, and mortgages. While this brings some pressure, it also strengthens my sense of control over my own life.

Buying a home is my declaration of independence: I can make my own choices and take responsibility for them, live the life I want, and avoid having others meddle in or criticize my decisions.
