An atmosphere that empowers people to succeed
The elders of my hometown would let me be. The environment is given to us by others — it's shaped by people. What you want to do is your right. You主宰 your own life,支配 your own time. No one has the right to interfere with whether you gain or lose weight, allowing you relatively free rein to develop your strengths.
From the family unit to the city, to the nation — do we thrive in an atmosphere where people meddle, or one where they refrain from interfering?
When there's less interference, people figure out how to develop themselves.
If you truly think I'm smart, you should trust my judgment rather than make decisions for me. Whether I can tackle scientific research and breakthroughs, whether I have the capability — I know better than you. I'll assess for myself. If I feel I can't do something and you insist I can, then you do it instead. "You can, you up." No can, don't go around criticizing others — criticize yourself.
The first thing in life is to understand yourself, then execute — solidly, practically.
What happens when you don't understand yourself? A crowd of people will start telling you what to do — this one says major in this field, that one says marry that person.
But who takes responsibility for the results? Who takes responsibility for your life? No one. They're just like relatives at Chinese New Year, spouting nonsense. The real reason you end up accomplishing nothing in life is that you haven't truly realized they're all just talking nonsense.
Because they don't understand you, and you haven't understood yourself either — that's why you get misled and influenced. But the moment you open your eyes and look inward, truly seeing yourself clearly, what do you feel? In that instant, the world goes quiet.
You suddenly realize that out of 7 billion people on Earth, not a single one understands you as well as you understand yourself. When you know everyone else is just babbling at you, what influence can they possibly have? None.
At this very moment, you know your life's path better than anyone. You know what you're suited for, what you can achieve.
