In 2017, UGG’s largest OEM factory in China relocated to Longfeng Fur Factory in Jiaozuo, Henan Province. The nearby Sangpo Village—just 17 km away—found its path to wealth, transforming overnight into a hub for counterfeit international brand apparel, with over 3,000 stores in a single village. (One thing to keep in mind: only the winter boots are locally made by this OEM. The rest of the “brand-name” fashion items—everything except the boots—are sourced from elsewhere. People who know, know. The actual quality of the clothing is so-so; not that great, but at least it’s cheap.)
