Reader Submission | The Dilemma of Reproducation Among Lower-Level Individual Farmers in Rural China: A Case Study of Lychee and Longan Industries in Guangxi Region

Due to the processes of modernization and monetization, significant ideological conflicts have emerged between the original rural population (who grew up in agricultural settings) and the post-rural population (who migrated to cities for work). These issues include reliance on subsistence allowances, a lack of emotional guidance, women bearing disproportionate labor burdens, and men falling into valuelessness and turning to gambling. The loss of meaning and sense of purpose among the original rural population represents a fundamental contradiction that is likely to hinder the so-called revitalization of rural areas.
