What’s the Cost of Using Electric Cars?

I've been driving the BYD for a year now, with over 7,000 kilometers. Without a private charging桩, I mostly charge at public stations, which tend to be more expensive—around ¥1.1 per kWh. Compared to gasoline at ¥7 per liter, the energy cost savings are about 65%, bringing the cost down to roughly ¥0.2 per kilometer.

The biggest ongoing costs of car ownership are parking and insurance. Insurance runs over ¥5,000 in the first year, but drops by about 50% in the second year if no claims are made. Parking fees vary by location, averaging around ¥200 per month, or ¥2,000–3,000 annually. Aside from those, the main expense is energy consumption.
