A stable monthly salary isn't just about money—it's about stability of expectation. Knowing that next month you'll have this much, and the month after that, this much again.
Being a boss comes with uneven returns. You might not see a profit for three years, then make three years' worth in one go. Maybe you lose money for the first three years, then recoup it all in year four.
For most people, that kind of experience is extremely painful. Working hard one month with no reward, then working hard the next month only to lose money—nearly no one can handle that.
