The longer your work cycle, the harder it is for AI to replace you. If your work cycle runs on a five-year verification horizon, no one dares to swap you out for AI.

Whoever holds people’s time holds their fate. As a boss, you can afford to lose money, but not time.

Do people want you to fail?

There are many reasons why people don’t want you to fail. Behind you are the livelihoods of many employees, profit sources for upstream and downstream businesses, and local revenue streams. In other words, you’ve built a whole ecosystem—where you operate, at least three parties benefit. Upstream and downstream merchants make money, your employees can support their families, and the local area earns from you too. If you fall, all three sides suffer. That’s why people don’t want you to fail.

Of course, sometimes there are reasons people hope you do fail—for example, when something goes wrong, someone has to take the blame.
