In reality, their core goal is to normalize and rationalize men paying bride prices and giving gifts (they only discuss this before actually receiving them).
Common套路:
First take the bride price, get married, then immediately vanish back to her natal home, then claim she’s been subjected to domestic violence and demand divorce, with the man paying extra compensation to settle. Once the money is obtained, use it to化解 high-consumption debts accumulated along the way.
