Good jobs are tradable

After being laid off, the author was told by a friend that he could get a job at a state-owned enterprise for just a few thousand yuan in referral fees.

In reality, the position lacks official staffing (编制), meaning layoffs are still possible. The monthly salary is only 3,000–4,000 yuan, but in smaller cities, even having such a job is quite difficult. Positions with official staffing—especially the more prestigious ones—can fetch hundreds of thousands of yuan on the black market.

This makes it an excellent side-hustle direction, with strong potential for regional monopolization.
