High Income Is No Get-Out-of-Jail-Free Card
Some people are clearly traders—you know they understand the game—yet they recklessly gamble, accumulate massive debt, and drop below the kill line.
Some people have the ability to earn a high salary, but lack the skill to judge character. They constantly attract women with ulterior motives. While you make money shorting the market, your wife repeatedly "shorts" you through divorce proceedings, taking your assets. When emotions spiral out of control, they drop below the kill line.
Some people lose their earning capacity due to illness. Meanwhile, they bought homes with heavy leverage, switched luxury cars constantly, have a stay-at-home spouse, and kids at top-tier private schools—with zero cash flow. This is what causes them to drop below the kill line.
Many people—including yourself—need to ask: Is your mindset sound? Are you psychologically well-rounded? If your spirit has always lived below the kill line, do you truly believe you can maintain material safety? How long do you think someone spiritually lower-class can sustain a higher-class lifestyle? Even stepping outside of money and material descriptions—what quality does your life actually have? That, too, is determined by who you are as a person.
