Revenue figures reflect the monthly average and can be understood as monthly income.

Current monthly average revenue: ~50 RMB/month

Revenue breakdown:

Primary income streams include: (1) affiliate commissions from JD.com product promotions, (2) website revenue (primarily from paid articles; ad revenue is negligible), (3) revenue from our own e-commerce store, and (4) direct ad placements pushed to subscribers.

JD.com affiliate commissions: 30 RMB/month

Website revenue (ads/paid): 20 RMB/month

E-commerce store sales: 0 RMB/month

Subscriber ad push revenue: 0 RMB/month

Expense breakdown:

Major expenses fall into four categories: (1) traffic acquisition costs (what we've spent to acquire users), (2) compliance costs (mainly business registration and bookkeeping/accounting), (3) product development costs (servers, domain, plugins, development, etc.), and (4) labor costs. Currently, this is a solo side hustle run in spare time, so labor isn't counted as an expense—only estimated hours (roughly 1,740 hours; actual time is likely higher, with lots of fragmented effort and fewer focused blocks). Because costs don't scale evenly over time, I've reported an blended average (some one-time costs are included). We've made several missteps, and the unnecessary losses from those detours have been significant.

Traffic costs: 5,000 RMB total (~1,700 RMB/year average)

Compliance costs: 5,000 RMB total (~3,900 RMB/year average)

Development costs: 30,000 RMB total (~1,700 RMB/year average), with 15,000 RMB in losses

Labor costs: 1 person, ~1,740 hours invested
