Money is a resource. If you’re only looking to splurge and live lavishly, no one cares about the little you hoard. But if you want to snowball your wealth and grow it fast enough, you’ll inevitably cross a line — you’ll grow big enough to matter. And when that happens, someone will come after you. In other words, when money is small, it’s yours. When it gets big, it effectively isn’t.

You can never use that much money anyway. So what good does it do to aggressively scrape it all together?
