Profitable Projects Don’t Need Outside Funding; Risky Ones Do
If it were a guaranteed profit, it wouldn't normally need to seek outside investment—such opportunities are already snapped up by the insiders' own capital. If it's not guaranteed, say it carries high risk and needs some capital to spread that risk, that's why it's being sold off externally.
