Everyone in the West African country of Mali has a mobile phone, but getting online is a hassle. Street vendors have their laptops loaded with songs—listen to a track for pennies, and it feels like an iTunes brick-and-mortar store. Pay up, and the song gets transferred to your phone; people then share tracks with each other via Bluetooth.
It's just like the MP3 player days back home, when knockoff phones ruled and shop owners would download 50 songs for five bucks, or you'd spend an hour at an internet café for three…….
