If one side cuts too deep and the other can't take it anymore—crying and making a scene—then the venue's operators have to step in to soothe and mediate.
But what's the essence of that soothing? It's making the winner hand over some money. But what if the winner has no money either?
That's perfectly normal.
Because the company operates under limited liability, the platform may have no money—or even be deeply in debt.
Of course, this doesn't mean the executives are broke. But they've already legally taken their compensation in the form of salaries and bonuses—money you can't confiscate.
