One offense, one penalty
No double rewards for one act, no double penalties for one act.
Encourage senior employees, but do not reward them merely for being senior.
Seniority in the company is not a valid basis for rewards. Reward progress, not tenure.
Bonuses must come from performance, not from years of service.
Rewards should scale upward; penalties should be applied immediately and fully.
If something fails, who takes the blame first?
The leader.
If something succeeds, who gets rewarded first?
The employee.
Rewards flow upward from the bottom; penalties flow downward from the top. Rewards flow inward from the outside; penalties flow outward from the inside.
A single metric cannot be shared by two people. Two owners don’t mean mutual support—they mean no one takes responsibility.
Money should only go to those whose effort can actually change the outcome. #ReadingNotes
