In the eyes of HR, working at a large company is like moving along concentric circles—those on the outside are thrown further out by centrifugal force and naturally filtered out. You have to keep moving inward. As for the difficulties women face at work during pregnancy, "nobody really complains about the workload being too high, because even if they did, it wouldn't change anything."
