Is It Worth Leaving Big Cities for Small Towns?
There will always be a gap, but what matters more is whether you feel at ease with it. If going back leaves you unhappy, then don’t go. But if it makes you more comfortable, there’s no harm in returning.
I’ve been thinking about this too. The biggest concern is that if the pandemic persists long-term with continuous lockdowns, the uncontrollable risks to daily life become too great. If something like what happened in Shanghai—sudden half-month lockdowns—occurs, it becomes very difficult to take care of family members, and even harder for those who live far away.
On the other hand, looking again at the development of my hometown, there are opportunities there too. In other words, the internet makes everything possible.
