High School: Focus on Problem-Solving, Scores, and Rankings

Different choices lead to different outcomes. I kept asking myself: Do I regret it? Yes, I truly do. You might know a little about everything, but what good does that do you? If you don’t score well on the exam, it’s completely useless!

First, every stage of life has its primary task. During high school—before you turn 18—the main goal is to get into a good university. How do you achieve that? By grinding through practice problems, chasing scores, and climbing the rankings.

Second, the learning environment matters enormously. During the exam-focused education phase, you need an atmosphere built around test performance to help you achieve the scores and rankings you’re aiming for.

The gaokao is a battle for a second chance.

If you do well, you escape. If you don’t, you might remain trapped in that small place forever.
