Lottery Scam 6666
I’ve seen a lot of people talking about this on Zhihu—there’s still a scam going on that’s been running for a year.
The root cause: the giveaway campaign has no entry requirements and doesn’t require a security deposit.
How it works:
They’ll first “win” you something, but then tell you can’t claim it unless you place an order (or make a purchase using a discount from another giveaway prize). They’ll say your spot is saved, but you need to complete an order to qualify.
Once you’re hooked and place the order, they stall with fake shipment updates, repeat this tactic across multiple campaigns, and some people get scammed two or three times before being blocked and abandoned.
As I’ve pointed out before, content platforms give bloggers too much power—they can block you from commenting or following them at will, so if they change their username, there’s no way to file a complaint because you can’t even identify who they are. In the end, you’re just left using the experience as a cautionary tale to share with others. (Though some might even use what they’ve learned to run the same scheme themselves.)
