Education Is Selection: It’s About Rankings, Not Learning

So whoever invests resources outside of class gets results. The purpose of school isn’t to cultivate elites but to educate the general public. Schools aim to produce qualified talent that is useful to society—what would happen if everyone became an elite? Who would go into factories? Who would deliver packages?

“Qualified” doesn’t mean good, excellent, or outstanding. Education itself exists to meet the needs of the assembly line.
