Are There Really No Opportunities in China Anymore

You only develop a worldview after you’ve seen the world. If you’ve never left your hometown, and since graduation you’ve stayed in one city, trapped in the same small circle, staring blind at everything around you — of course you don’t see opportunities. That’s normal.

Spend a few years traveling across the country, talking to people from all walks of life, and you’ll start forming your own opinions. You’ll notice that what some people discard is exactly what others are desperate for. What’s completely ordinary to one group is often something another group has never even imagined.

When you leave home, you become humble, but goods from far away fetch higher prices. Selling things that one group takes for granted to another group that actually needs them — capturing that scarcity premium — is what profit is all about.

Crisis means danger to some and opportunity to others. Risk and reward come from the same source. The only way to beat people is when they’re busy complaining and throwing up their hands — that’s when you strike.
