This post is basically a discouragement.

The main reason is that overall prices in China are quite low, and if you choose long-term or short-term rentals and book in advance, you can often get half a month or even one or two months for just a few hundred yuan. If you opt for a RV instead, the hassle and cost of parking and securing a space are relatively high, which makes it pretty hard to catch the crowd at popular scenic spots. (Just think about the headaches of showering and dealing with waste—more than enough to talk yourself out of it.)

It's basically a case of consumers getting swept up in a momentary burst of enthusiasm.
