When you’ve chosen the right audience, you’re already halfway there.
People are deeply empathetic creatures. When you see traits in others that mirror your own, you can't help but project yourself onto them.
This is a standard technique in communications—something you've likely encountered without even noticing.
Many people attach labels to themselves. Take Director Hou from *In the Name of People*, who immediately describes himself as "a farmer's son."
Or consider that famous reincarnated spiritual figure, known as the "industry terminator," who never fails to introduce himself as "a high-school dropout from a tier-four small town."
This linguistic device is called empathy. In a communications course, they could talk about it for a whole week.
Notice how skillfully they choose whom to empathize with: farmers are numerous, so are people from tier-four towns, and so are those who never attended university.
When you identify the right core audience, you're already halfway to success.
