People are complex and flawed. Praise the more angelic side of them.

The best way to get the attention of important people is to proactively offer help.

Every flaw has a corresponding strength; a flaw is simply a strength not yet applied correctly.

When evaluating a person, don’t start with their flaws—look at what unique strengths they have. When assessing a piece of research, don’t immediately criticize its flaws—ask what we can learn from it.

Envision three outcomes for every project: best case, normal, and worst case. Prepare for the best, but plan for the worst.
