Persistence and Adaptability
CategoryReading Notes
Perseverance ability refers to your capacity to run a straight sprint—whether you can keep going day after day, year after year.
Adaptability ability refers to your capacity to handle a curve—what happens when the track suddenly changes and everything you’ve practiced becomes irrelevant? How do you cope?
When the rules stay constant, the stronger your perseverance ability, the more you accumulate on the track, and the greater your advantage.
But when rules can change, if your adaptability and switching ability fall short, and you rely too heavily on accumulated experience, you’re often the one who suffers the most.
