Work and Winning Rate

A person goes to work and earns 300,000 yuan a year. They feel their work is meaningful. Why? Because their work genuinely affects the existing stock. You originally had 300,000 yuan in savings; after one year it becomes 600,000, after two years 900,000. You see returns.

But if your parents left you a billion, does earning 300,000 still hold economic meaning? With a billion, doing nothing yields 30 million in returns per year. If your decisions are sound enough to raise an already risk-free 3% return by one percentage point—to 4%—that becomes 40 million, an extra 10 million. The only thing that matters to you then is improving decision-making accuracy. How many people earn 10 million a year, let alone improve their decisions by a single percentage point?
