Talent alone is not enough to be valued
How good you were at exams, how many times you came in first, and how many awards and honors you collected in every subject—none of that matters.
What truly sets you apart isn't that you got something right once in a while, but that you never make a mistake.
A horse farm owner might buy and exploit a fast horse, but he'd never promote it to be the farm owner just because it runs fast.
Letting your emotions show on your face is like revealing your hole cards at a mahjong table; keeping them hidden means no one can see what you hold. The greatest source of inequality in life is asymmetric information. Hiding your cards and working hard to read others' is exactly how you build information asymmetry.
Only with information asymmetry can you win—and win with certainty.
