Life is simply birth, aging, sickness, and death—the process of earning money to pay off the bills.

For most people, buying a house, getting married, and having kids—all of these revolve around "birth." The midlife crisis at work, caring for aging parents—these revolve around "aging." Medical care for both the elderly and children, including your own—these revolve around "illness." Everyone has parents, and sooner or later, you'll witness their passing. That's "death."

Birth costs money, aging costs money, illness costs money, and death costs money. This endless cycle of earning money to cover the bills—that's what life is called.

When you work and earn money, you're offering your expertise to clients who can afford it. You're providing professional services to users who can pay—and are willing to pay—for them.

The world doesn't reward lofty dreams; it rewards people who actually follow through. In plain terms: can you cover the bills for your own birth, aging, illness, and death? And then, can you cover those bills for more and more people?

If you can, you'll be continually rewarded and pushed higher up.

The more you expect a single job to deliver on all your goals, the harder it becomes to achieve any of them.

Having multiple goals isn't the problem—distributing them across different time periods is. At any given moment, there's really only one goal, one rabbit to chase. In that local battleground, stay focused and multiply your resources against a thinner opponent. That's the key to achieving your goals—in layman's terms, invest your limited resources in things that generate returns.

No matter who you want to become, at the end of the day, you still have to live your life.
