The greatest difference among people lies in their subjective initiative
A self-motivated person will take initiative, experiment on their own, and learn from experience. You could say that after hitting a wall on the left, they gather lessons learned and then try the right side. They’ll act, reflect, optimize, and move forward iteratively—if you give them a direction, they’ll figure out the rest; you might not even need to give them a direction at all, as they’ll摸索 their own way. That’s how they get things done.
For ordinary people, being responsible, dependable, and steady is enough. Of course, they can maintain but not expand—there’s a surplus of resources at home for them to guard, guarding until someone capable of offense emerges.
Connections, resources, and relationships are merely provisions and troops. Winning a battle depends not just on provisions and troops, but on who leads the campaign. Ordinary people aren’t good at attacking cities; they’re better at maintenance.
Both of these are talents—one expands, the other defends. If you can’t even defend, that’s just manpower.
