The same goes for startups. You can never come up with a plan that makes everyone happy—investors, customers, employees. That’s impossible. All you can do is put forward a plan that makes everyone mistakenly believe they’ll be the one who’s satisfied.
People are only motivated when they’re unhappy with the status quo but mistakenly believe the future will bring satisfaction.
They call it “dangling a carrot.”
